Getting started

  • What equipment should I use?

    Commissioned photos must meet the quality standards consistent with the Client statement of work, as determined by the Client or Company in each of their sole discretion. Your experience must be able to deliver what is expected by the client.

  • How are photo shoot requests created?

    Clients place orders via a booking form which triggers a broadcast to the nearest photographer to the shoot location.

  • Where and when will I get notified of opportunities?

    Photoshoot opportunities are broadcasted by email and sms. Broadcast notifications are timed so photographers can accept or decline the opportunity.

  • What types of commercial photography does Kodakit book gigs for?

    Real Estate, Product, Food, Travel / Hotel and Events

  • I am able to do videography, where do I indicate upon signing up?

    Express your interest on the Profile Section of “My Account”.

  • I'm having issues when I key in my mobile number / address upon registration

  • When will my Kodakit profile be approved?

    5 business days.

  • My account has been published, what happens next?

    Once a client is ready to place orders in your geographical area, we will notify you.

  • Where do I add in my bank account details?

    You should input your bank information during the registration process. You can also change or add it via your account in the photographer platform.

  • My account has been approved, what happens next?

    We are constantly signing new clients and will notify you when photoshoots are available in your area.

 

Photoshoot

  • How do I receive a photoshoot request?

    We notify photographers of available jobs via sms. We also might need to contact you via phone or email from time to time.

  • How long do I have to accept a photoshoot request?

    Broadcasts are treated differently by geography and client. Average broadcast time can range from 5minutes to 30 minutes.

  • What does it mean when “Proposal no longer valid” appears upon clicking the accept button?

    The broadcast has timed out and the amount of time you had to accept the shoot has expired.

  • What happens if I decline a request?

    The broadcast will be sent to next photographer in the queue.

  • How long do I have to get to the photoshoot location?

    Photographer must arrive at photoshoot location on scheduled time.

  • Do you cover transportation costs?

    Some clients cover transporation costs when covering remote locations. At Kodakit we try as much as possible to match photographers to shoots that are nearby.

  • What if the customer is not ready when I arrive?

    We will treat this as a cancellation.

  • What if I need to cancel the photoshoot?

    Please notify Kodakit here → as soon as possible so that we can find a replacement.

  • What if the photoshoot I had scheduled is cancelled?

    Photographers are paid a 50% cancellation fee. If the client reschedules, the same photographer has first right of refusal on the next job.

  • Who can I contact if I have issues during the photoshoot?

  • What are your cancelation policies?

    If a client cancels a job 24 hrs within scheduled time, the photographer will be paid a 50% cancellation fee.

  • What if the customer contacts me to change photoshoot address, time and deliverables?

    We ask that you contact your community manager here. →

  • Can I bring a friend?

    No, you may not bring a friend or family member.

  • Can I bring an assistant?

    Only if the photoshoot requires an assistant.

  • If I am unable to take photos on the day of shoot, may I get my friend to take photos on my behalf?

    No. If you need to cancel, please notify Kodakit immediately and we will find a replacement.

  • Do I need to confirm the photoshoot with the customer?

    No, you do not need to confirm.

 

Shot list

  • What happens if customer does not have all items on shotlist ready at time of photo shoot?

    Photographer should shoot everything on the shotlist that they can, and identify the reasons for items that weren't ready or available.

  • What happens if customer asks me to shoot items that are not on the shotlist?

    Please politely decline to shoot items that are not on the shotlist.

 

File Delivery

  • Where do I go to deliver files?

    Please sign in to your account and go to the 'Open Jobs' section. Each job will have a link to where you should upload your files.

  • What is the maximum size of each image for upload?

    There is no cap on file size. The image should respect the resolution specified in the brief.

  • Am I able to upload RAW files into the photoshoot order?

    No.Please always upload file types that align with the deliverable requirements in your brief.

  • When I click 'Publish Photos to Client', does it mean that the photos go straight to the client?

    No. The photos go to the Kodakit editing team. They will audit the files and make sure they meet all requirements and are approved to be sent to the client.

  • Do files have a naming convention?

    Yes. All naming conventions are outlined in the client creative brief.

  • Can I use Dropbox, WeTransfer or other file sharing services?

    No. All client images need to be uploaded via the Kodakit cloud.

  • What if I have fewer images than specified in the creative brief?

    Photographers are expected to shoot what is requested by the cleint and specified on the brief. If the reason for having fewer photos can be justified and reasons are submitted, Kodakit will notify the client. If there isn't an approved reason for missing files, we will have to ask for a reshoot.

  • What happens if customer asks me to send photos to them directly?

    Please politely decline.

  • What if I have more images than specified in the creative brief?

    Photographers can submit more images than specified and the Kodakit editing team will select the best and then submit them to the client.

  • I delivered the wrong files.

  • I'm having different delivery issues.

    We ask that you contact your community manager here. →

  • Status of my recent delivery on my dashboard reads "Rejected", what happens next?

    A Kodakit teammate will reach out to you.

  • How do I upload re-edited photos to the same order?

    A Kodakit teammate will reach out to you.

 

Reshoots

  • If the photoshoot I was scheduled for gets cancelled, do I get any preference if it is rescheduled?

    Yes. We will add you to the broadcast and give you first right of refusal for the shoot.

  • Is there a penalty to reshoot if it was my mistake?

    Kodakit will ask you to reshoot the order and you will not get paid twice.

 

Cancellation policy

  • What is the cancellation policy if a customer cancels?

    If a client cancels a job 24 hrs within scheduled time, photographer will be paid a 50% cancellation fee.

  • Can I cancel the photoshoot?

    We ask that you notify Kodakit here → as soon as possible so that we can find a replacement.

  • Is there a penalty if I cancel the photoshoot?

    If this happens with frequency we will place you on probation.

  • If the photoshoot I was scheduled on gets cancelled do I get any preference if it is rescheduled?

    Yes. We will add you to the broadcast and you will have first right of refusal.

 

Scheduling

  • Where do I see my upcoming scheduled jobs?

    Photographers should login to their account and review scheduled jobs in the backoffice.

  • Can I contact the customer?

    The customers contact information is attached to the order.

  • Can I reschedule or cancel a job I accepted?

    You will not be able to reschedule a photoshoot. If you cancel a photoshoot we ask that you notify Kodakit here → as soon as possible so that we can find a replacement.

  • Do I need to confirm the photoshoot with the customer?

    No, you do not need to confirm a photoshoot with a customer.

  • Can I use the Kodakit logo on my website and marketing materials?

    Yes.

  • Can I work with Kodakit marketing to showcase my work?
